Our Mission
Our mission is to enrich the lives of our students by providing a multifaceted and specialized Mexican cultural music education. We accomplish this by engaging students with professional music educators. All our teachers are members of a professional mariachi band and know firsthand our rich Mexican music culture. Our students work at their own pace and we offer to them performance opportunities in our community. Through the synergy of these principles, our students develop the skills they need to succeed in music, education, and in life. We believe low-income families who don’t have access to enrichment music classes have dreams and Activities 4 All is an option for those families to reach their goals.
Our Story
Since opening in 2010, the Music Academy Ilusion has offered music classes to our community. Our goal is to offer quality music classes at the lowest possible tuition or even free to students who can not pay it. We are the only choice for music instruction in our area focusing on traditional Mexican Music. The Music Academy curriculum includes systematic and organized lessons from basic to more advanced classes. We focus on teaching mariachi band instruments such as guitar, violin, bass, and more.
Our founder Jose Humberto Camacho is a teacher and has been teaching music since he was a young person living in Mexico and he wants to transmit his love for traditional Mexican music to our new generations. As a non-profit organization, our main focus is to support our low-income families and provide our students with activities that allow them to become better human beings and productive citizens in our community. By offering a place where they can enrich their lives, they focus on positive activities instead of being on the streets or becoming gang members.
Studies have shown that children who study music excel academically, and develop attention, memory, and auditory skills.
